Who? Me?

This is version 2.0 of my picture blog (the original was on the late, unlamented Vox).

I started this blog primarily to share pictures with my friends and family.  Augere Lyra is obviously not my real name, but it’s close enough.  Call me Lyra.

In Real Life ™  I’m an evolutionary biologist who lives and works in the Republic of Panamá.  I actually study sea urchin genetics, but photography is one of my hobbys and so most of the pictures here are from weekend hikes with friends or other trips I’ve taken, rather than anything to do with my work.

I’m originally from just outside Philadelphia, PA, but I’ve spent most of the last 20 years moving hither an yon for school and work, so I haven’t actually lived there in a long time.  It’s still home though.

If any one wants to use any of the pictures posted here, please ask.  I can’t imagine a situation in which I’d say no, but I’d like my name to be attached.
